End Trachoma by 2020

Date: Tuesday Sep 12, 2017, 6:30 pm

We're not asking for $$$ -  Just your used stamps...

The used stamps will be trimmed and sorted and sold.  Every dollar raised will go to preventing this infectious eye disease by improving health and hygiene in remote area of Australia.  Together with the World Health Organisation, we can achieve the global effort to eliminate trachoma by 2020.

Stamps can be dropped off at the Tivoli German Club or our fortnightly BBQ at Woolworth Glenhuntly from  16st September..

Remember every stamp helps!

Lift the Lid on Mental Health (Copy)

Date: Tuesday Oct 10, 2017, 7:00 am

Club members will be collection donations at Caulfield Train Station for  Research into mental illness.

This country faces a mental illness epidemic. It is a huge challenge and we know that Rotary can create a happier,
healthier society through mental health research, particularly for our younger people.
Australia now faces some very stark mental health statistics, including:
• One in two people will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime
• One in five suffers from a mental illness in any given year
• 50% of mental illness occurs before the age of 14
• More hours are lost through mental illness in the workplace than any other factor
