Failyne update after Cyclone Pam
Following the devastation of Cyclone Pam Rotarian Rufino Pineda (Rotary Club of Santo) visited Failyne's home yesterday. You can see her drinking fresh water from the Rotary water tank and playing with teddy bears and the guitar we sent over.
The roof appears to have been extended and weighed down with bricks.Back to Gallery
As previously advised, Santo missed the eye of the cyclone and was saved from the severe damage we have seen on the other islands.
The Rotary Club of Glen Eira is still fundraising and will be sending our funds through Disaster Aid Australia who are working with the two Rotary Clubs in Port Vila to determine the best way to assist.
When Rufino took these photos, Mepline was at school. Failyne goes to school in the morning and stays home in the afternoon with sisters and relatives. She is a joyful as ever.
The Rotary Club of Glen Eira will shortly be making a payment to cover Failyne's school fees for 2015.
