Ludovic is a Rotaractor and is member of a group trying to save our water supplies. One step towards doing this can be using modern technology and in particular, using drones (model aeroplanes).
Drones can be used particularly for monitoring the waters. That is, attach camera (still or video) to the drone, and fly it to the site to view it. This has the clear advantage that drones can reach places that either are inaccesible to, or at least not easily accessible for humans.
Over the years, drones have progressed in some ways. Their prices are going down and there are better batteries becoming available. One application I had heard of, with drones, was to help fight bushfires. However, he had serious reservations about this application, and raised the question of technical problems.
His Rotoractor group works to help the homeless. They have an environmental project, to help clean up the Yarra.
