Conflict and violence displace millions of people each year. Half of those killed in conflict are children, and 90 percent are civilians.

We refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts.
How Rotary makes help happen?
Through our service projects, peace fellowships, and scholarships, our members are taking action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, inequality, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.

Visit the Rotary International Promoting Peace page and help us make a difference…

Happy New Year.

Rotary Australia supports families in need.

This bushfire event is far from over and we are committed to supporting all communities impacted across Australia.

Bendigo Bank has partnered with Rotary International District 9800 to establish an appeal with 100% of donated funds going directly to communities in need.

Donations can be made at any Bendigo Bank branch or online at Community Enterprise Foundation.

Please note: for those living outside Australia we accept international donations.

All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and donors will be provided with a tax receipt through the Foundation.

The appeal will be conducted by the bank’s charitable arm, Community Enterprise Foundation™. Funds raised will be used in a range of locally identified charitable areas to provide relief and recovery in the fire affected areas.

The Rotary International D900 Australian Bushfire Disaster Relief Appeal is a management account of Community Enterprise Foundation ABN 69 694 230 518, The Bendigo Centre, PO Box 480, Bendigo, Vic 3552. The Foundation will make distributions by way of grants, following receipt of applications from organisations endorsed with an item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).

Joke of the Week.............Together we laugh

The Lone Ranger and Tonto walked into a saloon and sat down to drink a beer.

After a few minutes, a big tall cowboy walked in and said "Who owns the big white horse outside?"

The Lone Ranger stood up, hitched his gun belt, and said, "I do....Why?"

The cowboy looked at the Lone Ranger and said, "I just thought you’d like to know that your horse is about dead outside!"

The Lone Ranger and Tonto rushed outside and sure enough Silver was ready to die from heat exhaustion. The Lone Ranger got the horse water and soon Silver was starting to feel a little better.

The Lone Ranger turned to Tonto and said, "Tonto, I want you to run around Silver and see if you can create enough of a breeze to make him start to feel better." Tonto said, "Sure, Kemosabe" and took off running circles around Silver.

Not able to do anything else but wait, the Lone Ranger returned to the saloon to finish his drink.

A few minutes later, another cowboy struts into the bar and asks, "Who owns that big white horse outside?" The Lone Ranger stands again, and claims, "I do, what's wrong with him this time?"

"Nothing, but you left your injun runnin!"

Welcome and thank you to our new Sponsor -  Continental Kosher Butchers.

Stamp Out Trachoma

Collect used stamps from your work, schools, universities, hospitals, medical clinics and council offices.... and remember your neighbours.

Remember every stamp helps!

Are you collecting your HPE 2 & 4 plastic lids?

A unique community project is giving amputees a helping hand.
In what is believed to be a world first, not-for-profit charity Envision has paired up with Rotary to deliver the Helping Hands project, which turns recycled plastic bottle caps into prosthetic hands and arms.
